Automating data backup on the internet.

You can automate data backup to the cloud using a third party app. This simplifies the backup process further and eliminates the need to manually copy data from your device to a secure location. To set this up, please follow these steps:

  1. If you don't already have a dropbox account, visit dropbox.com and sign-up.
  2. Download and install the Dropsync app from the google play store to your handheld device.
  3. Launch the Dropsync app and connect it to your dropbox account by logging in.
  4. In Dropsync, select 'Choose What to Sync' and then select the Aviman backup folder on your external storage. A folder by the same name will be created in your dropbox account.
  5. Go to Aviman and backup the database as usual.

Once setup, this will automatically upload the backup folder to your dropbox account whenever you take a new backup. Keep taking backups periodically and they will automatically be stored to your dropbox folder.

This procedure can also be used to sync Aviman on multiple devices. Just follow the same procedure on both devices but using the same dropbox account. The latest database will automatically be downloaded where it is needed. A word of caution though, don't make changes to both your devices at the same time without syncing as this may lead to data loss.
